October 6th, 2008: I was looking at the qwantzparty and haylookit Dinosaur Comics Flickr pools and there's some awesome stuff there. Cakes! Hilariously juvenile graffiti! Good work, everyone. Also I'm way way behind on replying to email so if you've written me, I've read it, but I haven't written back yet!

October 3rd, 2008: So guys last year a guy named Dr. McMuffin wrote A Dinosaur Comics Opera! He turned this comic into an opera. AMAZING. And it's being performed TONIGHT. Oh yes. Liederwölfe (that's a link to their MySpace page and they sound awesome) is performing it next Friday, October 3rd, in Montreal, as part of the Pop Montreal independent music festival! How rad is that? Answer: totally rad. You should come! Here are the DEETS:

Who are these Liederwölfe people, in press-release format? Liederwölfe is a group of professional musicians who bring vocal music from the past 731 years to any venue, from pubs to parking lots to palaces. In existence for nearly three years, Liederwölfe powers on in its mission: to get out of the concert hall and bring classical vocal music to intelligent and curious music-lovers on their own terms - pint in hand. From barroom opera-cabaret to live art installation to contemporary music festivals and community fundraisers, Liederwölfe has collaborated with such local artists as Sherwin Tjia, Chinese alt-rockers Shanghai Triad, visual artists Mathieu Lefevre and Belinda Campbell, burlesque artist Miss Sugarpuss, and folk-pop dreamcatcher Courtney Wing.

October 1st, 2008: This seems kinda publicity-stunty, but Collins has come up with a list of words they're going to drop from their dictionary. Not the dictionary, their dictionary: we all know the dictionary is the OED. But in any case, a news story with a list of awesome words facing extinction (from the print edition) (of one dictionary I've never read) was STILL too much to pass up. I call "fubsy"! "Compossible" is also a great made-up sounding word that I hope to work into my speech from now on. I think doing this while still being understood is... compossible?

In any case, Collins said they'll be monitoring the media for use of these words, so check it out, Collins! I HOPE YOU READ WEBCOMICS??
