The haps: Down at the bottom of this page I link to our World Community Grid page, where a bunch of us use our computer's spare time to work on humanitarian computing (curing cancer, AIDS, etc) - you can sign up here. I mentioned this a lot earlier this year when we became the sixth-largest team on the network, beating out IBM, Slashdot, the entire nation of France, etc! I'm mentioning it again now because, yesterday, our "total work done" number rolled over: together we've done over 1000 years of science. I feel compelled to note that "1000 years of science" is both a great milestone AND a great band name. – Ryan | |||
