The haps: In regards to yesterday's comic, a bunch of people emailed me to let me know this had been done on Derren Brown's show in the UK. So if you're in England, that's probably why the scam seemed familiar! On a similar theme, Wikipedia's List of Confidence Tricks makes for fascinating reading.
